Virtual Training on the Implementation of OIC/SMIIC Halal Standards

Upon the request of GCMS Global Certification and monitoring Services company, the SMIIC General Secretariat organized and conducted a virtual training program on the Implementation of OIC/SMIIC Halal Standards from 2–5 March 2026.

The program provided comprehensive guidance on the implementation of the following standards:

  • OIC/SMIIC 1:2019 – General Requirements for Halal Food
  • OIC/SMIIC 2:2019 – Conformity Assessment – Requirements for Bodies Providing Halal Certification
  • OIC/SMIIC 4:2018 – Halal Cosmetics – General Requirements
  • OIC/SMIIC 6:2019 – Particular requirements for the application of OIC/SMIIC 1 to places where Halal food and beverages are prepared, stored and served
  • OIC/SMIIC 22: 2021 – Halal Edible Gelatine – Requirements and Test Methods
  • OIC/SMIIC 24: 2020 – General Requirements for Food Additives and Other Added Chemicals to Halal Food

This program forms part of SMIIC’s continuous efforts to promote the harmonization and effective implementation of halal standards, strengthen cooperation with industry stakeholders, and support the development of a reliable global halal ecosystem.
