The SMIIC FORUM 2012 will function as a platform to draw together experts and representatives from the fields of standardization, accreditation and metrology. During the SMIIC FORUM 2012, the current situation of these fields internationally and in the OIC Members States will be discussed. The importance of harmonization of Standards, Accreditation and Metrology among OIC Member States for economic development and trade will be explained. The steps that need to be taken to enhance the quality infrastructure for sustainable development, full participation in international trade and to be able to satisfy the technical requirements of the multilateral trading system will be considered.
