SMIIC delegation attended the World Halal Summit 2015.

SMIIC Secretary General and his accompanying delegation attended the World Halal Summit held on 01-03 April 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. During the Forum, Secretary General delivered a introduction speech and it was followed by the SMIIC presentation with the topic: “Importance of OIC/SMIIC Standards to the International Trade.”

Representatives from the global halal market including certification bodies, national standards and accreditation bodies underscored the importance of SMIIC as an intergovernmental institution for developing halal standards in eliminating technical barriers to trade hence increasing intra-OIC trade.
