Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT, Secretary General of SMIIC and his accompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Kevin McKinley, Secretary General of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on 27 October in Geneva, Switzerland.
Following a brief presentation on the activities and structure of SMIIC, Mr. ÖVÜT underscored the importance of SMIIC projects which aim to contribute to the improvement of the quality infrastructure of its Member States, especially Least Developed Countries (LDCs), besides developing common standards.
Both parties agreed that strategies set by SMIIC for the fields of standardization and metrology may be important inputs for ISO strategies. With this meeting, current level of cooperation between SMIIC and ISO has been enhanced pursuing the aim to collaborate on technical issues.
