Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT, Secretary General and his accompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Erzhan Kaji MALKAZHIULY, Grand Mufti and Chairman of the Spiritual and Administration of Kazakhstan on 27 April 2016. Mr. Beibit MIRZAGELDIYEV, Director of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan which is the authorized body established for halal certification under the Mufti office was also present in the meeting.

It was an important opportunity to learn more about the halal system in Kazakhstan which is carried out under the supervision of the Mufti office and also to establish cooperation dialogues which will benefit to all parties.

On his part, Mr. MIRZAGELDIYEV expressed his willingness to support and promote SMIIC and its activities especially through adoption and implementation of the OIC/SMIIC standards in Kazakhstan.

Mr. ÖVÜT expressed his thanks and gratitude for the great hospitality extended to SMIIC delegation.
