Mr. İhsan Övüt, Secretary General and his accompanying delegation paid a visit to the Côte d'Ivoire Normalisation (CODINORM), Côte d'Ivoire on Wednesday, 12 July 2017 and had a meeting with H.E. Constant BOKA, Director General-CODINORM , during which Mr. Boka presented the membership application letter of Côte d'Ivoire to SMIIC. 

 On the same day they also visited to the  Laboratoire National d’Essais de Qualité, de Métrologie et d’Analyse (LANEMA) , Côte d'Ivoire and had a meeting with Mr. Déza Emmanuel Zabo, Director of Metrology and Technical Control. Mr. Déza Emmanuel Zabo expressed their intention to become a member of SMIIC and explained recent developments and activities of LANEMA.

Mr. İhsan Övüt, welcomed the membership application of CODINORM and LANEMA, Côte d’Ivoire, explained the recent developments of SMIIC, activities of the Metrology Council and possible cooperation and future projects.
