SMIIC Secretary General, H.E. İhsan ÖVÜT participated in 10th International Economic Summit “Russia — Islamic World: KazanSummit 2018” which was held on 10-12 May 2018 in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation.

Prior to the launching of the conference and sessions, Mr. ÖVÜT made the opening of Annual International Exhibition of the Halal Industry-Russia Halal Expo together with the Mufti of Tatarstan, Mr. Kamil Khazrat Samigullin.

Mr. Övüt also participated in the session with the theme of “National Halal standards in the frameworks of the cooperation with the OIC member countries” as a speaker and made presentation on the activities of SMIIC, role of SMIIC at Halal conformity assessment activities and on OIC/SMIIC Halal Food Standards under title of “OIC/SMIIC Standards on Halal Issues and Halal Quality Infrastructure”.
