SMIIC Secretary General, H.E. Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT and his accompanying delegation attended the 14th Session of the UN-OIC General Meeting on Cooperation on 03-05 July 2018 in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.

The meeting reviewed the cooperation projects, and assess the progress made in the implementation of what has been agreed upon. It also discussed cooperation in political affairs, bilateral talks and capacity building as well as economic, scientific, cultural, social and human issues.

The participants adopted the Meeting’s Final Report which contained a number of recommendations on promoting cooperation and coordination in the fields related to Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, Republic of Mali, the Sahel, Somalia, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Myanmar and Afghanistan.

The Meeting also adopted a number of recommendations on election partnership; fight against terrorism; protection against violent extremism, human rights and rules of law; peace building; countering conflicts; democracy and good governance; economic, scientific, cultural, social and human affairs; and South-South cooperation.
