SMIIC Secretary General, H.E. İhsan Övüt paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (BSN), Jakarta, Indonesia on 05 October 2018 and met Mr. Bambang Prasetya, Director General of BSN and his team.

Mr. Prasetya provided information about BSN’s latest activities and during the fruitful meeting, latest developments in Indonesia and new structure of BSN and information about new structure in the area of halal standards for the benefit of Ummah were discussed.

Furthermore, Mr. İhsan Övüt shared the latest developments of SMIIC in detail by underscoring the importance of having a harmonized standards system under SMIIC.

Upon the readiness of BSN to become a member of SMIIC, Mr. Övüt replied to the questions of BSN Team and informed them about the necessary procedures. Once the internal requirements of Indonesia are finalized, BSN will become a member of SMIIC upon the approval of the Board of Directors.
