Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT, Secretary General of SMIIC attended the 2019 World Standard Day ceremony hosted by the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) on 08 October 2019 in Tehran, Iran and delivered a speech at the event.

In his speech, Mr. OVUT explained the importance of standards in facilitating our lives and improving economies of countries, simultaneously creating better conditions for our health, environment, communication and so on. Then, he briefly described what SMIIC is doing in standardization field and also in enhancing quality infrastructure of its member states.

He concluded his speech by thanking to international, regional and national organizations for their great efforts in standardization field and reiterated SMIIC’s commitment to raise awareness about standards to foster innovation and shape future economic opportunities.

 2019 World Standard Day ceremony was a fruitful event to celebrate the joint endeavors exerted in standardization field and to pay tribute to everyone involved in standard development processes.

During his visit, Mr. OVUT had  a meeting with the President and members of ISIRI Halal Committee and also had the opportunity to explain the objectives and activities of SMIIC  in his courtesy visit to the ISIRI President and other senior managers.
