On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, I have the honor to extend our warmest greetings to all those for whom the month of fasting has come to an end and who are looking forward to this spiritual festival to celebrate.
Throughout the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims all around the world have once again deepened the practice of their faith through fasting and reflection on the values of peace, harmony and cooperation that are at the heart of the Muslim faith. Ramadan is a big reminder of our responsibility to lift up one another and create a society in which all can reach their fullest potential by reaching out to the less fortunate.
We know that due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all Muslim Ummah will naturally feel sad for not being able to convene for Eid or to celebrate it in the mosque as we traditionally have done at this time of the year.
However, we firmly believe that in our patience with this test from Allah, there is some good for us as a community and society as a whole. Indeed with every hardship, there is ease.
Hence, we pray Allah (s.w.t) to accept all of our prayers and fasting during this blessed month and hope that this Eid brings the joy and welfare that we all need in coping with these difficult times. We do also pray for the safety of our communities and a swift an end to this pandemic.
On behalf of the SMIIC General Secretariat, we wish all Muslims and the members of SMIIC family a blessed and joyous celebration.
Eid Mubarak.
