SMIIC Secretary General, H.E Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT visited the “Agence Nigérienne de Normalisation, de Métrologie et de Certification (ANMC)” during his participation in the 47th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC (CFM) on 27-28th November 2020. This visit is expected to enhance cooperation frameworks between SMIIC and ANMC.
H.E Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT met the Director General of ANMC, H.E Mr. Abdoul-kader Zakary Oumarou and discussed the relations between the two organizations in order to get the utmost benefit from SMIIC membership.
The importance of this visit lies in strengthening the means of understanding and cooperation between SMIIC and ANMC whilst providing an opportunity to learn more about our members and to better identify their resources for our capacity building projects being organized to improve quality infrastructure of SMIIC member states.
The “Direction de la Normalisation de la Promotion de la Qualité et de la Métrologie (DNPQM) of Niger’s Republic, was created in 2002 by a Law (Loi 2002-028 du 31/12/2002) as a National Standard Body then was renamed as the Agence Nigérienne de Normalisation, de Métrologie et de Certification (ANMC). ANMC has currently 15 staff working on full time covering standardization and metrology activities.
