SMIIC organized and conducted the OIC/SMIIC 4:2018 Halal Cosmetics - General Requirements, foundation training virtually in Arabic from 11-12 December 2023.

The training was attended by 45 participants from SMIIC -Arabic Speaking Member States. The objective of the standard is to address the requirement for the production of halal cosmetic products to meet the challenges of the growing demand for halal cosmetic products.

The standard was formulated based on the concept of halal that integrates the requirement of halal as part of the overall management and control systems to ensure that the production of halal cosmetic products is produced in accordance with Islamic rulings.

The program included an introduction to SMIIC and its activities, an introduction to OIC/SMIIC 4, requirements and implementation of the OIC/SMIIC 4, and an evaluation test.
