SMIIC organized and conducted the OIC/SMIIC 17-1:2020 Halal Supply Chain Management System – Part 1: Transportation – General Requirements  training in English which was held virtually on 01-02 July 2024. The training was given by Assoc. Prof. Dr Harlina Suzana Jaafar, CMILT, Head Centre of Halal Management and Business Innovation, Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Shah Alam, MALAYSIA.

The training was attended by 49 experts from 23 SMIIC Member States.

This standard specifies supply chain management system requirements for assurance of the halal integrity of products, goods and/ or cargo being handled through various modes of transportation.

The training program included:

• an introduction to OIC/SMIIC 17-1 ,
• requirements and implementation of the OIC/SMIIC 17-1,
• question and answer session,
• an evaluation test on OIC/SMIIC 17-1.
