SMIIC MC Training in Calibration of measuring microphones according to the international standard IEC 61094-5 and calculation of uncertainties

The 3th SMIIC MC Training within the SMIIC MC Work Plan 2024 – 2026 V1 was the Calibration of measuring microphones according to the international standard IEC 61094-5 and calculation of uncertainties that took place on the 18 September 2024 virtually, technically hosted by SMIIC General Secretariat. 17 experts participated in the training.

The training was hosted by NMI: Uzbek National Metrology Institue (UZNIM)

General Description: The training provides general information about sensitivity calibration of microphones according to IEC 61094-5 and calculation methods of sensitivity of microphones and calculation of uncertainties.

Objective, expected outcome:

 

This training course aims to:

  • show sensitivity measurement of microphones setup and process;
  • demonstrate theoretical basis of methods for determining microphone sensitivity;
  • learing requirments of international standard;
  • show evaluavation uncertainty components;
  • say measuring range and uncertainty range of comparison calibrations

Who should attend: The training should be attended by the responsible staff for Acoustics laboratory.
