The Surinaams Standaarden Bureau (SSB) is a statutory body established on October 15, 2007 by the Suriname Bureau of Standards Act (S.B. 2006 no. 30) to develop, adopt, maintain and promote the application of standards and technical specifications. The Bureau is the implementing agency of the Standards Act (S.B. 2004 no. 121) and is also the National Institute for:
-Standards and Technical Specifications;
-Certification of Products, Services and Processes;
-Metrology (Measures and Weights);
-Accreditation of Laboratories and Testing Facilities.
