The First Meeting of the Task Force Group (TFG) was held in İstanbul, Republic of Turkey on 16-17 January 2017, hosted by SMIIC General Secretariat. TFG with the decision of SMIIC General Assembly, was established for studying SMIIC Internal Documents.  The TFG Meeting was attended by the representatives of the TFG Members.

The opening address was made by Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT, Secretary General of SMIIC. In his speech Mr. Övüt explained in detail the preparation stages of SMIIC Statute as well as the amendments that have been done after the establishment of SMIIC. He also underscored the reasons in amending these documents.

It was a fruitful meeting to find a common ground by discussing all comments/feedbacks received from members on internal documents of SMIIC.  It was decided to hold the 2nd TFG Meeting on 16-17 February 2017 to finalize the study.
