SMIIC Technical Committee on Halal Management Systems – TC 11 published the new standard: OIC/SMIIC 18:2021 – Halal Quality Management System - Requirements
The standard emphasizes the implementation of quality management system from the Islamic perspectives. It is developed with the aim to ensure that organizations are managed in accordance with Islamic Rules and practice of the quality management system. Identification of Halal Critical Control Points in organizations' processes, Halal-based Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and risk-based thinking are the tools given in this standard.
The requirements of this standard are generic and it can be implemented by any organization committed to Islamic principles, regardless of its type or size.
The hard and professional work conducted by experts from TC 11 Members and from the International Fiqh Academy resulted in the development of this unique standard. SMIIC would like to thank all experts who have put in time and effort in the development of the standard.
The standards development process incorporated hours of hard work from experts from the TC1 Member States and from the International Fiqh Academy who worked through step by step every aspect of the document producing the final standard.
