23rd Meeting of the SMIIC Board of Directors (BOD) was held succesfully on 19 March 2022 in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the kind hospitality of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO).
The meeting was chaired by H.E. Dr. Saad bin Othman AL-KASABI, Chairman of the SMIIC Board of Directors (BOD). The meeting was attended by representatives from 12 Member States of the Board of Directors.
General Secretariat presented its report on the developments and activities conducted since the last Board of Directors meeting and the report was welcomed by the Board of Directors members.
Furthermore, two important Committees ( a Permanent and an Ad Hoc Committee) have been established and appointments of membership positions under the Board of Directors as well as Assistant Secretary General have been sucessfully completed.
During the meeting, External Auditor Report for 2021 and the Progress Report on Two Year Implementation Plan (2021-2022) of SMIIC Strategic Plan 2021-2030 were submitted and the Chairs of the SMIIC Councils/Committee presented their reports on the latest developments and activities. Also, SMIIC Annual Report 2021 was unanimously approved.
As a result of the Chairman and Vice-Chairmen Elections of SMIIC Board of Directors for 2022-2024:
- Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Elected as the Chairman of the BOD
- Republic of Turkey – Elected as the Vice-Chairman of the BOD and appointed as the Chair of the Finance Committee
- Republic of Cameroon – Elected as the Vice-Chairman of the BOD and appointed as the Chair of the Strategy Committee
- Islamic Republic of Pakistan – Elected as the Vice-Chairman of the BOD and appointed as the Chair of the Standardization Management Council
