SMIIC Participation in the 28th GA of ARSO

SMIIC Secretary General, H.E İhsan ÖVÜT and his accompanying delegate has participated the 28th General Assembly of the African Standards Organization (ARSO) which was held under the theme "The standards we want: Agenda 2063 of the African Union and the Inter-African Free Trade Area: the role of standardization and conformity assessment over the next 41 years" on 27 June - 01 July 2022 in Yaoundé, Republic of Cameroon.

 

During his address to the assembly, Mr. ÖVÜT thanked the ARSO Central Secretariat and the Standards and Quality Agency (ANOR) for the excellent arrangements made for this General Assembly Meeting.
After introduced SMIIC and its activities, Mr. ÖVÜT reaffirm that SMIIC will continue to assist its members in the African region in terms of training, capacity building, exchange of know-how and implementation of programs for the improvement of quality infrastructure in their respective countries during these upcoming 41 years as it is the main theme of this general assembly.

 

He also congratulates Prof. Alex Dodoo, ARSO President-Elect and Director General Ghana Standards Authority, for assuming the office of the ARSO President for the next term of office and wished for a fruitful collaboration between ARSO and SMIIC for the benefit of their respective common member states.
