OIC/SMIIC 1 Halal Auditor Training for Arab Region

The OIC/SMIIC 1 Halal Auditor Training for Arab Region was held between 10-12 October 2022 Virtually by the SMIIC General Secretariat and participated by 37 delegates from Algeria, United Arab of Emirates, Iraq, Jordan, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Sudan and Tunisia.

The objective of the training program was to encourage the harmonization of Halal Standards used in the OIC and internationally by aiding in the adoption and use of the OIC/SMIIC Halal Standards. The program aimed to inform representatives from SMIIC/OIC Member States regarding the procedures for adoption, implementation and use of the OIC/SMIIC series of 3 Halal Food Standards whilst providing training in SMIIC Information System (IS), Technical Committee (TC) work, auditing techniques and requirements.
The training program included:
• SMIIC and Its activities, OIC SMIIC standards and SMIIC IS
• OIC SMIIC 1 and 2
• Case studies
• Evaluation Test

Experts who succesfully completed the training were awarded certificates.

This Training was funded under the COMCEC Project Funding.

  

The COMCEC Coordination Office (CCO) introduced in 2013 the COMCEC Project Funding (CPF), a financing mechanism that funds projects submitted by the Member Countries and relevant OIC Institutions to realise the strategic objectives and outcomes of the COMCEC Strategy. The funding is provided in the form of a grant through the Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye, which is one of the main bodies in the COMCEC Project Funding scheme.
