SMIIC Secretary General Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT and his accompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to the National Standards Center (NSC) of Brunei on 08 June 2023 and met with H.E. Hjh Sharni bte Hj Mohd Said, Head of NSC as well as the representatives from Halal Food Control Division (Bahagian Kawalan Makanan Halal, BKMH).

It was a fruitful meeting where two organizations introduced their structure and activities. By reminding that SMIIC is the only standardization body of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and mandated to carry out all technical activities with regards to the halal, membership procedure in SMIIC was explained in detail and both parties exchanged views in this regard.
