The 44st SMIIC MC Training within the SMIIC MC Work Plan 2021 – 2023 V3 was Calibration of SPRT by Fixed Point Method that took place on the 20 September 2023  virtually, technically hosted by SMIIC General Secretariat. 17 experts participated in the training.

The training was hosted by NMI: National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (BSN)

General Description: This training will offer an introduction to the Calibration of SPRT by Fixed Point (FP) Method. It is designed for participants at the beginner level and adopts a practical approach. The training will primarily cover the main equipment, the setup of the measurement system, and the calibration procedure. Please note that uncertainty evaluation is not included in this training.

Objective, expected outcome: The participants will gain an understanding of how to set up the measurement system and perform the calibration of SPRT using the FP method. This includes knowledge of:

• The necessary equipment and tools, along with the associated measurement setup.
• The process of realizing Fixed-point cells (including TPW, In, Sn, Zn, Al, and Ag) and how to use them in the measurement process for calibrating the SPRT.

Who should attend: This training is intended for personnel working in temperature laboratories at the national metrology institutes or secondary-level calibration laboratories. It is specifically designed for those who are in the initial stages of preparing for SPRT Calibration by the FP method.
