The 49st SMIIC MC Training within the SMIIC MC Work Plan 2021 – 2023 V3 was the Proper Selection and Use of Reference Materials for Calibration and Quality Control that took place on the 12 October 2023 virtually, technically hosted by SMIIC General Secretariat. experts participated in the training.

General Description: The training covers important points to properly select and properly use reference materials
Objective, expected outcome: To provide information and tools required to effectively select and use reference materials in a laboratory to perform calibrations and quality control activities according to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025.
Who should attend: The training would be attended by staff working in chemical (food, environmental, fuel analysis), biochemical, clinical analysis laboratories at the level of National Metrology Institutes and/or working under ISO/IEC 17025 and/or ISO 15189 quality system who wants to gain a comprehensive understanding of the selection and use of reference materials, enabling them to enhance the calibration, quality control, regulatory compliance, and consumer trust within their respective fields.
