The 50st SMIIC MC Training within the SMIIC MC Work Plan 2021 – 2023 V3 was the Protein-Based Measurement Methods for Determination of Pork Products in Food, Pharmaceuticals & Cosmetics that took place on the 16 October 2023 virtually, technically hosted by SMIIC General Secretariat. 9 experts participated in the training.

General Description: The training covers proteomic analysis, a highly specific and sensitive method to verify the authenticity of animal products.
Objective, expected outcome: To provide knowledge and skills required to effectively utilize protein-based measurement techniques for the accurate detection and identification of pork products in Food, Pharmaceuticals & Cosmetics.
Who should attend: The training would be attended by staff working in Biochemical Laboratories at the level of National Metrology Institutes who wants to gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles, methodologies, and instruments involved in proteomics, enabling them to enhance the quality control, regulatory compliance, and consumer trust within their respective fields.
