Upon the request of our esteemed member Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND), a workshop was conducted by the SMIIC General Secretariat on the adoption, use and implementation of OIC/SMIIC 1:2019 and OIC/SMIIC 2:2019 on February 13-16, 2024 in Bakü, Azerbaijan.
The workshop included the following:
1. Adoption, implementation and use of the OIC/SMIIC 1:2019 and 2:2019 standards
2. the application of Islamic rules to the products and services produced in the country
3. the elimination of technical obstacles arising during the import and export of halal products
4. the implementation of regulations related to production of halal products, the creation of conditions for their general use
5. satisfaction of the demands and expectations of consumers regarding halal products and services
6. the requirements of halal certification and accreditation
7. question and answer session,
8. an evaluation test on OIC/SMIIC 1 and 2.

We are delighted to report that the training was highly productive, providing valuable insights and equipping the AZSTAND staff with the necessary tools and expertise. Our commitment to supporting our members remains unwavering, and we will continue to assist wherever needed.
