The Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) is pleased to announce a special webinar to be held on 16 May 2025 at 11:00 (GMT+3) in celebration of World Halal Standards Day.
SMIIC officially designated 17 May as World Halal Standards Day to commemorate the adoption of the first OIC/SMIIC halal standards on 17 May 2011 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. This annual event highlights the importance of harmonized halal standards and the role they play in strengthening the global halal quality infrastructure.
The theme of the 2nd World Halal Standards Day (17 May 2025) is:
“Innovating Halal: Embracing Food Tech and Sustainability with OIC/SMIIC Standards.”
The upcoming webinar will feature expert insights into the evolving halal landscape, focusing on the intersection of technological innovation, sustainable practices, and halal standards.
