The first phase of the COMCEC Project Funding initiative (2024-SMIIC-344), titled “Enhancing the Capacity of Metrology Laboratories for Improved Quality Infrastructure”, officially commenced with a virtual training session held online.

The project includes:
•⁠ ⁠Phase 1: Online general training (launched 02 September 2025)
•⁠ ⁠Phase 2: Theoretical training for six laboratories in Uganda (09-11 September 2025)
•⁠ ⁠Phase 3: Workshop for six laboratories in Türkiye (01-02 October 2025)

The online session was led by Dr. Enver Sadıkoğlu, a distinguished expert from TÜBİTAK UME, and brought together participants, including representatives from the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) and the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO).

The success of this initial session sets a strong foundation for the upcoming phases, promising impactful outcomes for all participating laboratories. We sincerely appreciate COMCEC’s invaluable support in enabling us to enhance the quality infrastructure of our member states, fostering greater technical excellence and regional cooperation.
