The 27th SMIIC MC Training within the SMIIC MC Work Plan 2024 – 2026 V2 was the The Training on National Time Scale Generation and International Traceability that took place on the 26 November 2025 virtually, technically hosted by SMIIC General Secretariat. 22 experts participated in the training.
The training was hosted by NMI: SASO NMCC
General Description: This training will provide information on the generation of the national time scale using Cs atomic clocks and GNSS receivers, and its distribution to users via the NTP system. It will also explain how the generated national time will contribute to UTC generation and how to achieve international traceability.
Objective, expected outcome: The aim of this training is to provide general information on frequency generation and measurement with international traceability.
Who should attend: This course is designed for researchers and technicians working in national metrology institutes or related laboratories who plan to produce and distribute national time scales with international traceability.
