The 30th SMIIC MC Training within the SMIIC MC Work Plan 2024 – 2026 V2 was the The Training on Introduction to Measurement Uncertainty in Calibration and Testing that took place on the 23 December 2025 virtually, technically hosted by SMIIC General Secretariat. 16 experts participated in the training.
The training was hosted by NMI: EMI
General Description: This training presents the fundamental definitions and core concepts of measurement uncertainty. It introduces essential terms such as uncertainty, Error, sample, population and TypeA&B uncertainty all of which are critical for evaluating uncertainty of measurement.
Objective, expected outcome: The training aims to establishes general rules for evaluating and expressing uncertainty in measurement that are intended to be applicable to a broad spectrum of measurements.
Who should attend: The course is suitable for all personnel of both calibration and testing laboratories.
