On 05 February 2026, H.E. Mr. İhsan Övüt, Secretary General of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), in Istanbul.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on ways to further strengthen cooperation between SMIIC and the OTS. Discussions focused in particular on the development of joint capacity-building initiatives, professional training programmes, and enhanced collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening institutional relations and advancing cooperation in line with their respective mandates, with a view to contributing to sustainable development and closer coordination among their member states.
