SMIIC Delivers Specialized Halal Food Training Course in Libya

The Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), in cooperation with the Libyan National Centre for Standardization and Metrology (LNCSM), co-organized a specialized foundation training course for SMIIC Member Countries on OIC/SMIIC 1:2019 – General Requirements for Halal Food, held on 26–27 January 2026 in Libya.


The two-day training was delivered in Arabic by Dr. Mohammed Ali Alsheikh Wace, Specialist and Technical Assistant at the SMIIC General Secretariat. The course focused on the core principles of halal food requirements and their practical implementation in line with OIC/SMIIC standards.


The training brought together 35 participants from a broad range of public institutions, academic bodies, and private sector organizations:
This specialized course forms part of SMIIC’s capacity-building programs for Member Countries, aimed at strengthening technical knowledge, enhancing institutional competencies, and supporting the effective and harmonized application of halal food standards at the national level.
