The module, on laboratory accreditation, was presented by Dr. Dea Winiarti, Senior Conformity Assessment Staff and Laboratory Assessor at the National Accreditation Committee (KAN) and the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (BSN), the mentoring institution of the programme. The session covered the accreditation process applied in Indonesia, including the information system used, assessment procedures, and the requirements for laboratory competence, equipment calibration and documentation. Participants also shared their national experiences and the practical challenges they face in implementation.

Implemented under Project No. 16 of the Two-Year Implementation Plan 2025–2026, the SMIIC (1+1) Project pairs advanced Member States with those seeking support in standardization, metrology and conformity assessment. Following its launch on 4 August 2026, further online sessions will continue throughout September.
