The 43th SMIIC MC Training within the SMIIC MC Work Plan 2024 – 2026 V3 was the The Training in Metrology Index for OIC Countries within the Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development (QI4SD) Framework held on the 27 August 2026 virtually, technically hosted by SMIIC General Secretariat. 14 experts participated in the training.

General Description: This training provides an overview of the Metrology Index within the Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development (QI4SD) framework. It explains the purpose, methodology, key indicators, and practical applications of the index as a tool for assessing and benchmarking national metrology systems in OIC Member States.
Objective, expected outcome: The objective of this training is to enable participants to understand the concept, methodology, and significance of the Metrology Index, interpret its results, identify opportunities for improving national metrology systems, and recognize its role in strengthening quality infrastructure and achieving sustainable development.
Who should attend: This training is intended for staff of National Metrology Institutes (NMIs), calibration and testing laboratory professionals, legal metrology authorities, members of the SMIIC Metrology Council, and researchers and professionals involved in metrology and quality infrastructure.
