The 15th SMIIC Technical Committee (TC) Week was successfully held from 14–18 September 2026 in Tunis, Tunisia, co-organized with the National Institute for Standardization and Industrial Property (INNORPI). The event brought together 244 participants from 33 countries and international organisations, representing 70 institutions.
TC Week was conducted in a hybrid format. 66 participants attended in person in Tunis and 199 joined sessions online. Registration, meeting enrolment and attendance were managed end-to-end through the SMIIC Information System, with QR check-in at meeting rooms and one-click secure links for online delegates. A total of 581 session attendances were recorded during the week.
Throughout the week, 20 sessions were held, covering the Technical Committees, the Committee on Conformity Assessment (CCA) and its Working Group, and the Management of the SMIIC Accreditation Committee (AC). TC1 (Halal Food Issues) was the most attended meeting with 75 participants from 27 countries, followed by CCA (63) and TC2 (Halal Cosmetics Issues, 51). Women made up 55% of all participants.
Indonesia, Malaysia, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia fielded the largest delegations, while Türkiye, host country Tunisia and Saudi Arabia were represented in nearly every session.
