The Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) successfully conducted a virtual training programme on OIC/SMIIC 22:2021 – Halal Edible Gelatin – Requirements and Test Methods for the staff of FAMBRAS Halal, Brazil, on 26–27 September 2026.

The two-day training programme was organized to strengthen the technical knowledge and practical understanding of FAMBRAS Halal staff regarding the requirements of OIC/SMIIC 22:2021 and its application in the assessment of halal edible gelatin.

The programme provided participants with an overview of the standard, including key requirements related to halal edible gelatin and relevant test methods, supporting participants in enhancing their understanding of the implementation and assessment of the standard within halal certification activities.

Through its specialized training programmes, SMIIC continues to support the effective implementation of OIC/SMIIC Halal Standards and contribute to capacity building among halal industry and certification stakeholders worldwide.
