The Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), successfully held the webinar entitled:
“Enhancing Industrial Resilience in OIC Member States through QI4SD and SME Access to Finance: Advancing Regional Trade and Global Market Integration”
Held virtually on 23 September 2026, the webinar brought together distinguished experts and representatives from international organizations, government, development finance institutions, SME development institutions and academia.
Through a series of focused presentations and discussions, the webinar explored how Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development (QI4SD) can contribute to strengthening SME competitiveness, industrial resilience, access to finance and integration into regional and global markets.
The programme addressed several interconnected areas, including the role of quality infrastructure in generating trusted compliance information, national policies supporting entrepreneurship and SME development, financing gaps faced by SMEs in OIC Member States, Islamic financing solutions and lines of finance, SME readiness for finance and market access, and the relationship between quality infrastructure and SME creditworthiness.
The interactive discussion further highlighted opportunities for continued institutional cooperation and possible follow-up activities, building on the exchanges and perspectives shared during the webinar. Draft Programme - SMIIC - UNIDO…
